I’m Mairead, a makeup artist, educator, style and confidence coach, and founder of The Edit by Mairead.

My career began behind the chair, but it was never really about makeup. It was always about the moment a woman catches her reflection and something shifts: when she stands a little taller, breathes a little deeper, and walks out the door differently than she walked in.

Over two decades of working with women, from bridal suites to editorial shoots and from corporate stages to intimate living rooms, has taught me something I never expected. What women want most isn’t to look different; it’s to feel like themselves again.

That’s the foundation of everything I do at The Edit. Whether I’m teaching a client to do her own makeup with confidence, helping her rediscover her wardrobe, coaching her on stage presence, or standing in a boardroom delivering a keynote on confidence and authenticity, the goal is always the same: to help women show up fully as themselves.

I trained formally at the Georgina Price School of Makeup Artistry in Galway and hold an ITEC certification. I’m based in Galway and work with clients across Ireland and the UK. Beyond my client work, I’m an active leader in Network Galway, where I support and champion women in business.
